Relay for Life schedules team captain meeting for all involved and potential captains

Relay for Life team captains and anyone interested in joining the 2008 Carbon County American Cancer Society Relay for Life are invited to attend the March team captains meeting.

The informational event will be conducted at the Castleview Hospital in the lobby of the new entrance.

The theme for this year's relay is "There's No Place Like HOPE," from the "Wizard of Oz."

The remainder of meetings scheduled for team captains will be conducted on Thursday, April 3, Tuesday, May 6, Thursday, June 5 and Tuesday, June 17.

Senator Bennett's rural business conference returns to Price in March

Sen. Bob Bennett, in conjunction with the Utah Rural Development Council, will host the seventh annual business conference at the Carbon County Event Center in Price on March 25 and 26.

"After holding this conference in a different community for the past six years, we're pleased to rejoin our friends in Price for 2008, three years after the events last stop in Carbon County," said Bennett.

The conference's keynote speaker, Proctor and Gamble Group President David Taylor, will discuss P&G's decision to invest over $300 million to build a new paper goods manufacturing plant in rural Box Elder County.

Carbon County job fair slated on March 13 at student center on college campus in Price

A free Carbon County job fair will be presented March 13 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the student center at the College of Eastern Utah.

The 2008 activity will provide an opportunity for local job seekers and employers to network.

Event organizers are still accepting employers interested in participating at the job fair.

Sponsored by the county's job opportunity based systems committee and organizations comprising the panel, the event is free to the public.
