Brittney Pollastro steals a rebound from several Wasatch players earlier in the preseason. Pollastro posted 10 points this past weekend as the Dinos rallied to defeat Pine View, 59-46 to complete the preseason.

The Carbon High Lady Dinos rounded out the preseason at home last Friday night as they hosted the Pine View Panthers. This competition boosted the Dinos final preseason record to 10-2 as they easily defeated the Panthers, 59-46.

Carbon jumped ahead of Pine View early on in the ball game as they outscored the Panthers, 10-22. The momentum continued in the Dinos favor throughout the remainder of the game as the Carbon girls continued to play strong.

The Dinos had four players finish the game in double figures. Leading the team in scoring was Danielle Julian with 13 points.

Following in scoring was Morgan Warburton and Ashley Rowley who each had 11 points. Brittney Pollastro followed with 10 points to round out the Dinos leading scorers roster.

Entering the preseason, the Dinos were favored by most to be the team to beat. This is still the case even though the team is currently ranked second behind Lehi in Region 8.

This year's team is experienced and is lined with talent. Throughout the preseason, senior Chelsey Warburton dominated the hardwood floor as she posted several high scores. Many games, Warburton scored more than 20 points, one game she scored over 30 points.

Also adding their talent to the Dino team has been Pollastro who is a dominant force underneath the basket. In her junior year with the Dinos, Pollastro has had great success pulling down boards and making things happen for Carbon.

Her second year with the Dinos has started out to be a good one for Morgan Warburton who has offered the team speed and endurance on the court.

Warburton has made several big plays for the Dinos and will be a strong player for the team during the regular season.

Julian has also played an active part in the Dinos successful preseason. She has been a consistant player who plays both ends of the court quite efficiently.

The Dinos bench team is also strong and can be called on at any time. The bench has offered their talents to the team throughout the year so far, and as the season nears, the Dinos are ready for all competition.

This could easily be the season which the Dinos have been longing for and a state title is truly not out of their grasp.

The Dinos will kick off the regular season Tuesday as they host the Emery Spartans at 7 p.m.
