East Carbon intends to revisit OHV regs at city's next planning, zoning board meeting

East Carbon planning and zoning will again revisit the issue of OHV regulations within city limits at their next meeting.

The board will be taking public comment on Dec. 20 at East Carbon City Hall.

The planning and zoning discussion will revolve around which streets within the city may be marked as OHV legal, according to city council members.

The problems with the current city ordinance stems from the fact that the small municipality does not have a clearly defined trailhead at the present time. That circumstance works in opposition to the ordinance which states that a rider may ride from his or her residence to the nearest trail head legally.

The Messiah has become a yearly spectacle when the oratorio is presented in the weeks before Christmas in Price. The 2007 program, directed by Russell Wilson, will take place on Dec. 2 at the Price Civic Auditorium. Each year, the program showcases the talents of local musicians. Included in the upcoming show are the Carbon-Emery choirs and orchestra.

The Messiah is an oratorio by George Frederick Handel based on a libretto by Charles Jennens. Composed in the summer of 1741 and premiered in Dublin on April 13, 1742, Messiah is Handel's most famous creation and is among the most popular works in western choral literature. The very well-known chorus, Hallelujah, is part of Handel's Messiah.
