Reservoirs, lakes and water holes in the mountains above Carbon County are filled with anglers and local residents who want to enjoy the cool air of the higher altitudes. Some people combine various kinds of recreation, including anglers who snooze while fishing. The temperatures have cooled slightly, but the hottest season of the year is upon the county. Based on 20-year averages, the hottest time occurs from Pioneer Day through the first part of August.
