Megan Garvin receives Academic All-State award.

Multi-sport athlete, Megan Garvin is also a success in the classroom. She was awarded Academic All-state in Volleyball for her 4.0 GPA this season. Garvin has carried the perfect GPA while participating on the Region eight championship volleyball team. She was also named second attendant to the Homecoming queen this year.

Twelve Carbon High athletes made Academic All-region this season. Garvin was joined by team mate Whitney Oliver in volleyball. The girl's soccer team had three on Academic All-region. They were Rebecca Rummel, Danae Riche and Kelsey Gillespie.

The cross country squad had four members awarded Academic All-region honors. Those runners are Jared Clark, Andrew Bates, Brett Wells and Kent Olsen. This year's football squad also had three. They were Matt Salas, Brandon Branch and Mike Harmond.

It is a credit to the school to have so much talent, both on and off the field of play and in the classroom.
