Carbon County News Briefs: National institute to offer free, confidential testing for black lung to local working miners
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Mobile Health Unit will be set up next week in the Carbon County area as a service to local residents.
The unit is used to conduct black lung screenings for underground miners in the Castle Valley.
All actively working underground coal miners in the area are eligible to participate in the free, easy and confidential screening.
The unit will be at the Dugout Canyon Mine from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 19 and at Market Express (850 South Carbon Avenue) on Oct. 20 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
