Whitney Oliver serves in earlier game against Uintah. She had three service aces in the region win against the Delta Rabbits Wednesday.

Getting into the meat of the season where every game counts now, the Carbon Dino volleyball squad made quick work to secure their first region win. They swept Delta in three games by the score of 25-14, 27-25, and 25-11 to start region play with a 1-0 record.

Coach Cristen Johnson stated that this was the best offense her team has shown all year as the Dinos pounded the ball over the net for score after score. Megan Garvin racked up an impressive 20 kills and sophomore Joy Malone added 11 k's.

Julia Potts ran the offense with her crisp and consistent sets. She had 31 set assists for the game. Whitney Oliver served up three aces and Julia Potts and Garvin had two.

Erika Potts kept the defense strong with 19 defensive digs that kept the Rabbits from getting anything going on their side of the net. Johnson felt like this was again a team effort and she was impressed by the intensity she saw from her squad.

Next up for the Lady Dinos is North Sanpete on Tuesday night. This will be a home game with varsity beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Carbon High gym.
