On Sept. 11 East Carbon City officials conducted the county's only primary election. The small municipality had nine individuals vying for three city council positions. The primary process shortened the ballot by three, eliminating Bonnie Bell, David Fryer and Charles Williams from the election.

Incumbent councilmember David Maggio dropped out of the election process on Sept. 4. The remaining candidates for the three council positions are: Robert Warren, Darma Lopez, Terry Harrison, David Avery, Andy Urbanik and Jerry Lemon.

Citizens will vote in the final council election on Nov. 6.
