Authorities Investigate Suv Theft, Property Destruction Incident

Local authorities continue to investigate a stolen motor vehicle complaint reported in the Westwood area on Aug. 28. The Nissan Xterra was found burned out in a canyon south of Pinnacle Peak on Tuesday. The perpetrators apparently obtained personal identification and credit cards in the incident. The heat of the vehicle fire liquefied metal, which ran down the side of the road forming a stream that solidified.
