Parrot heads raise funds with golf tourney

Parrot heads enjoy the summer sun as they raise money for childen in foster care in Carbon and Emery County.

On Aug. 4 the Parrot heads conducted a charity golf tournament to raise money for foster children in Carbon and Emery County. The event helped more than 105 kids in Castle County. Money that was raised will be given to local caseworkers and foster parents to aid in the purchase of school clothing for the coming academic year. The club raised over $9,000 during the event via entry fees and raffle tickets, etc. Additionally a parakeet palm tree was available, where individuals pulled a child's name from the tree and filled a backpack with school supplies.
