College of Eastern Utah to conduct May family events for prehistory week

Prehistory week will run from May 5 - 12 at the College of Eastern Utah Prehistoric Museum.

The museum will be hosting a family activity day starting at 10 a.m. and lasting till 3 p.m. on those days.

There will many fun activities for children and adults alike during the prehistoric event. Admission is free to the public.

Activities will include: face painting and a rock art wall, dinosaur sculptures, a mountain man tee pee, arrowhead making demonstrations and much more.

Price city makes proclamation to honor city public works employees

The week of May 20-26 is National Public Works Week. During that time the city of Price will be recognizing the essential role of public works employees in relationship to the quality of life in our local area.

The theme for this year will be "public works: moving life forward." According to a Price city press release, a community depends on the public works professionals who are always involved in the planning, design, construction, administration, service, operation, maintenance and repair of the infrastructure on which we all depend.

New fax scam targets agricultural grants funds for farmers and ranchers

Fraudulent faxes were sent out to farmers and ranchers recently offering grants from $2 million to $250 million dollars, there are currently no such grants available.

The fax states that the United Nations Food Agricultural Organization (FAO) is contracting the offer.

The FAO has confirmed that they are not sponsoring any such offer and to watch for the fraudulent solicitation.

If approached in relation to any such grant offer please notify the Better Business Bureau at info@utah.bbb.org. Or contact local law officials.
