Carbon County Chamber of Commerce president Nicole Steele welcomes more than 100 guests last Friday at the dedication of the miners memorial statue at Price's Heritage Park.

Commissioning the piece created by local artist Gary Prazen was the result of several community organizations and individuals.

The dedication ceremony included comments by Price Mayor Joe Piccolo along with speeches by Sen. Mike Dmitrich and chamber chair for the project Mike Halloran.

The dignitaries heralded the statue for showcasing mining and recapping the local agencies working as a team to recognize an important aspect of Price and Carbon County.

Performances include a musical selection by E Clampus Vitus and a poem by Marjorie Jones.
