County inmates clear weeds and trash from a lot east of the Carbon County Jail. Each spring the jail allows certain inmates to work under armed supervision outside the jail and sheriff's office. By allowing inmates to perform these types of tasks, fewer tax dollars are spent on groundskeeping and inmates are given the chance to spend a few hours outdoors.
