John Houston, the owner of Intermountain Electronics in Price, accepts the Utah Manufacturer of the Year award from Paul Olsen of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership during a ceremony at the Western Energy Training Center on Tuesday. The company recently completed a new facility on U.S. Highway 6. Intermountain Electronics has posted a 300 percent growth rate for two years. Partnership officials indicate the growth is due to lean manufacturing techniques. The local company beat out more than 3,200 manufacturers in the state for the award.
