Lyn and mom Tammy Wells prepare a prize sheep for competition at the Southeastern Utah Junior Livestock Show. The local event is slated July 10 to July 13 at Ferron. The program is sponsored by the Future Farmers of America and the 4-H Club. At the livestock competition, the judges select three grand champions as well as reserve champions in the beef, hog and lamb categories. Dozens of Castle Valley youth show up with livestock the youth have raised especially for the annual event and local businesses support the show by purchasing the animals from the contestants.
