A cat snuggles in a warm bed with the food bowl nearby and enjoys the relatively warm sunshine on Wednesday. But the National Weather Service expects temperatures to plummet and predicts sub-zero readings through the weekend. Residents should provide outside animals with a dry place to sleep along with extra food and adequate water during periods of freezing weather conditions.
