Ericka Potts drives inside during Friday's game. The lady dinos are sitting on a three game winning streak.

Heading up into the Uintah Basin, the Lady Dinos extended their winning steak to three. They took the game from Uintah 38-28.

Carbon took an early lead in a low scoring first quarter. Then Uintah took over and by the middle of the third the squad was seven points down. Megan Garvin was in true form as she hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to bring the team within one at the end of the third. That shot became the momentum that propelled the team into action.

In the fourth quarter it was all Dinos as they outscored Uintah by 11 points. Coach Carlson was glad to see her squad make the adjustments necessary to take over the game. "Uintah is a lot taller than us and in the first half of the game they put on a block fest against us." She commented. "We made the adjustments we needed to and took control."

More than offense, Carlson felt like the teams defense was the key to the win. "Uintah's Parkinson averages 20 a game and our post players held her to 14. We are the state's shortest team and we were able to stop her shooting when we needed it." "The offense stepped up in the second half, but our defense pressed the entire game."

Free throw shooting also made a difference in the game. The team was 11-14 on the night. In the critical fourth, they were 8-8 down the stretch.

Garvin led the team with another 14 points on the night. She hit two threes, including the critical one at the buzzer. Garvin also pulled in six rebounds. Patricia Smith snagged six rebounds as well. Julia Potts was quiet on the offensive end but she forced three turnovers.
