Megan Garvin continues to be hot from the three point line with 4 in Thursday's game and three more in the Friday night contest.

Back to back games meant back to back wins for the Lady Dinos this weekend. Starting with Dixie, the Carbon girls came out hard and fast and dominated Dixie with a 50-32 victory. Pineview took the floor on Friday and although the game developed at a slower pace, Carbon came out on top again with a score of 40-34.

Coach Carlson was surprised a bit by the intensity that her team showed in the early minutes of Thursday's game. "It was the first game that the girls came out and acted like they were ready to play. We have been getting down by five or six before they took off in previous games" she stated. "They came out with fire."

The Dinos were up by 10 before the quarter, forcing turnovers almost every time Dixie touched the ball. They increased their lead going into the break and then kept it the rest of the game. They never allowed Dixie back into the game.

Megan Garvin continued to be the team leader with 16 points and 10 rebounds. She has been deadly from long range; hitting four three's on the night. Julia Potts added 8 points. Whitney Williams also found her range with 2 threes on the night. Kayla Namanny hit the floor hard and dislocated her shoulder and had to leave the game. She expects to return to the line up next week.

After such a dominating performance, it was surprising to see the team come out a bit flat on Friday night. Pineview had an even slower night and only put three points in the first period of play. Carbon remained on top at the half by eight.

The Dinos increased their lead in the third. With the score 28-16 heading into the final stretch, Pineview began to make its move. As they closed the gap, they began to hit from long range and used the foul line to stop the clock. The Dinos hit crucial foul shots in the final minutes to thwart Pineview's strategy and in the end came out victorious.

Garvin had gone into the two games averaging 10 points a game. On Friday night she was responsible for half of the team's scoring with 20. She put in another three from beyond the arc.

Defense was the key to the win. Pineview's leading scorer was held to 5 points on the night. Julia Potts had seven steals on the night to stop Pineview.

With those wins on the books, the team will hit the road next week for a match up against Uintah in Vernal and then up to Tremonton to take on Bear River on Thursday.
