Carbon clerk-auditor Robert Pero feeds provisional ballots cast in the board of education race between Ruby Cordova and Edward Chavez through an optical scanner Wednesday. The original results showed that Cordova defeated Chavez by a margin of 455 ballots to 452 votes in the Nov. 7 election. The recount was completed Dec. 6, with the county clerk's office recording the absentee, provisional and regular ballots cast by voters at the electronic voting machines set up at the local polls. The board of education election results remained the same.
