Dino wrestlers take out all others for victory
Carbon Dino wrestling coach Dave Smith is very proud of his team this year.
And he has a right to be.
The Carbon Dino wrestlers took home the gold at last weekends Carbon Duels, a meet in which they have often not been the top team.
"This is our most dominating performance ever at this tournament," said Carbon wrestling coach Dave Smith. "Our kids performed far better than I had any right to expect this early in the season. I am proud to be their coach."

The only team that even really challenged the home team was 2-A standout Duchesne who fell to Carbon in the championship match 47 to 24.
According to Smith the Dino's owe there stand out victory to the conditioning obtained by two-a-day practices.
"We lost very few close matches all tournament long and that is a testament to the shape these kids are in," stated Smith.
First place Carbon wrestlers included Neco Velasquez, Tyson Herrick, Tanner Herrick, Michael Tryon, Davy Cox, Patrick Strey, Jay Workman and Brandon Branch.
Second Place grapplers included Kenny Davis, Preston Lodeserto, Wes Hunsaker and James McKendrick. Third placers were Alex Collins and Marcus Rowley. In Fourth place from Carbon was Colton Martinez, Branden Watkins, Steven Scow, Justin Procarione, Matt Salas and Lance Deeter.

Most outstanding wrestler for the tournament came down to a tie between Tyson and Tanner Herrick of Carbon and Aaron Butler of Monticello.
Carbon traveled to Emery Wednesday night to battle for the "an ax." According to Smith the winner of the Carbon-Emery wrestling duel will receive an ax to place in their trophy case for the year.
The ax is meant to give to life to the Carbon-Emery rivalry.
