A student is served during one of the bread and soup nights at the end of October.

Each fall the College of Eastern Utah holds bread and soup nights to gather money to help the needy. According organizers this year the nights were a bigger success than ever.

"We just want to thank those that came and participated," said Kathy Murray of the SUN Center, a volunteer agency on the campus. "We had record breaking totals for participation and for the amount of money raised."

During the four nights the event was held 1395 people attended the event and during that same time 114 volunteers helped to serve those who ate those evenings.

All together the four nights of activity raised $2500 for the Carbon Food Bank. The money will be used to buy items for needy families this holiday season.

"We just want people to know how much we appreciate their service, kind hearts and even their hungry stomachs," said Murray.
